Non-native English Speakers need to prepare and master the English language before they take plan going to abroad to study. First prepare using English Language tests like TOEFL before you attempt SAT.
Understanding the context
Just because you have attended an English medium school doesn’t mean you have mastered the English language or familiar with American English. Read American newspapers, essays on the internet, to understand how American English uses grammar or sentence formations. Understanding the context of the question is the most important part, most non-native speakers make a mistake in.
Read up on words and vocabulary to learn words that are not used in a day to day conversations.
What is your biggest weaknesses
Most of the international students do well the quantitative part of the exam, and struggle a lot in verbal part. But overconfidence will haunt you at the end. Just because Math is China or India is much harder than American Math doesn’t mean SAT Math will be the same.
Know the test format
SAT has 3 sections – Reading Comprehension, Writing and Math. Taking practice tests and mastering the timing and structure of the test will help you a lot.
